Jim Hagemann Snabe

Jim Hagemann Snabe is Chairman of Siemens AG and the European Commission's Special Envoy for Industrial Artificial Intelligence, advising Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Europe's industrial AI ecosystem. He serves as a Board Member at Temasek Holdings, Urban Partners and Bloom Energy. He is also a Member of the Board of Trustees at the World Economic Forum, a Member of the Global Advisory Board of Deutsche Bank, and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Banking Circle.

Based on 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Snabe is focused on leadership around innovation, digitisation and decarbonisation. As co-CEO of SAP (2010-2014) together with Bill McDermott, he was instrumental in driving the strategic development of SAP to double the value of the company and play a more responsible role in society. In 2013 he and co-CEO Bill McDermott were ranked #2 on Glassdoor.com's listing of the top fifty highest rated CEOs, based on their 99 percent approval rating from employees.

As Chairman of A. P. Moller Maersk and Siemens, he has led the transformation of two of Europe's largest conglomerates towards more focused, innovative and sustainable leaders in their respective industries.

In his capacity as a global business leader, Snabe is involved in several activities focused on societal progress, decarbonisation and the role of business in society. His views on leadership are shaped by his commitment to solving societal issues through innovation and his trust in human potential.

Snabe received a master's degree in operational research from the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark. In 2016 he was appointed Adjunct Professor at Copenhagen Business School based on his work around digital transformation and its impact on business and society.
