Frauke Stehr

Frauke Stehr is an economist working at the intersection of research and policy. She is Scientific Policy Officer at Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft, where she contributes to applied policy work on the German innovation system.

Her work focuses on market design, innovation policy, and the governance of research systems. Previously, she worked at the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation (EFI), the independent scientific body that advises the German federal government on science, technology, and innovation policy.

Before moving into policy, she was a postdoctoral researcher in economics at the University of Vienna. Her academic research, using microeconomic and experimental methods, has been published in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization. She runs a Progress Studies reading group in Berlin.

She holds a PhD in Economics from Maastricht University.
