
Beatrice Weder di Mauro
Beatrice Weder di Mauro is President of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the leading European network of academic economists, and holds the André Hoffmann Chair of Economics, Climate, and Nature Finance at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Her research focuses on international macroeconomics, financial crises, and climate and nature finance.
From 2001 to 2018, she held the Chair for International Macroeconomics at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz. From 2004 to 2012, she was a member of the German Council of Economic Experts — the first woman and the first non-German to serve on the council. She has also been a Research Professor at INSEAD Singapore.
She has served as consultant to governments, international organisations, and central banks, including the European Commission, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Central Bank, the Deutsche Bundesbank, and the OECD.
Her corporate governance experience includes serving on the boards of Roche, UBS, Bombardier and ThyssenKrupp. She currently sits on the board of Bosch.
Weder di Mauro has held visiting positions at Harvard University, the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the United Nations University in Tokyo. She previously worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund and as Assistant Professor at the University of Basel, where she received her PhD in Economics.
