Alexandra Roulet

Alexandra Roulet is an Associate Professor of Economics at INSEAD, a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and a member of the Conseil d'analyse économique (CAE). Her research focuses on unemployment insurance, wage differences between men and women, and how policy and technology affect labour markets.

She has published in the American Economic Review, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the Journal of Public Economics. She has also written on labour market policy, employment incentives, and social insurance systems in France and internationally. She co-won the 2017 Upjohn Institute Dissertation Award and received the 2019 AFSE prize for best economics book.

From June 2022 to September 2023, Roulet served as macroeconomic and public policy adviser to President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne.

In 2024, she received the Best Young French Economist Prize. Le Monde and Le Cercle des économistes award this prize each year to an economist under forty-one for academic work and public engagement.

Roulet holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University and is a graduate of the École normale supérieure. She currently holds the Mathieu Guillemin MBA'97J Fellowship in Business and Society at INSEAD.
